Public works: Wastewater
Provost & Pritchard prepared construction bid documents for 4.5 miles of industrial trunk sewer line and over two miles of reclaimed water line in Tulare County along the southern edge of the City of Tulare. The project consisted of approximately 23,000 lineal feet of 24-, 36-, and 42-inch diameter trunk sewer, 10,600 lineal feet of 24-inch diameter reclaimed water line, a 12 million gallon per day, trench style, cast in place, PVC lined, reinforced concrete industrial sewer lift station. Design tasks included selecting the alignment and depth of the system, coordinating with utility companies for location of existing infrastructure including a 20-inch diameter gas transmission main, designing a low maintenance, trench type sanitary sewer lift station, and intercepting an existing force main industrial sewer line. The project also involved developing plans and coordinating pipe borings (jack and bore method) underneath State Highway 99, Union Pacific Railroad, exiting utilities (Kinder-Morgan petroleum pipeline, fiber optics), Elk Bayou, and four separate crossings of Tulare Irrigation District irrigation channels. The project team coordinated with the following for approval of plans and specifications: City of Tulare, County of Tulare, Caltrans District 6 Permits, Union Pacific Railroad, Consolidated Peoples Ditch, Kaweah Delta Water Conservation District, and Tulare Irrigation Ditch Company.
