Naples Street & Storm Drain Improvements

City of Mendota, California

Provost & Pritchard prepared the plans and specifications for the reconstruction of Naples Street between 2nd Street and 4th Street in the City of Mendota. The area has long been a major concern for the City as the elevated railroad tracks on the east side of Naples Street impede the gravitational flow of water easterly across town. Poor drainage and heavy truck traffic had destroyed the street pavement. The work included demolition, removal of a portion of the existing roadway materials, rehabilitation of the road section, installation of storm drain improvements, construction of a wet well, installation of a duplex submersible pump station with related electrical and controls, minor concrete, earthwork, and incidentals. The project involved crossing a drainage force main under the San Joaquin Valley Railroad tracks.
